Completely wrapped in nature and perched at an inspiring 5,506' elevation, this newly designed 2-bedroom escape offers a beautiful, changing view of the High Country with every passing season. In the mid-spring and summer, the leaves fill in completely, wrapping you in a lush green treetop canopy. As autumn arrives, the falling leaves gently unveil stunning, colorful mountain vistas, which transition into breathtaking, snow-covered peak views during the winter months.
Enjoy effortless convenience with Beech Mountain Resort just an exciting 5-minute drive away. Spend your active days chasing trails, riding scenic chairlifts, mountain biking, or skiing the slopes. When you're ready to transition to quiet rest, return home to a warm fireplace, a cold glass of sweet tea, and a romantic evening under the stars in our warm 4-person outdoor hot tub.

Our cottage is settled high within a peaceful, welcoming mountain community. You are uniquely positioned just moments from Beech Mountain Resort, hiking paths, and historic Banner Elk, while enjoying complete privacy in your cozy forest hideaway. Settle in and enjoy excellent dining, cozy cafes, and local drinks in the charming town center of Banner Elk just a short drive down the mountain.
We are also incredibly close to our two wonderful local colleges—the beautiful Lees-McRae College nestled right in Banner Elk (just 12 minutes away) and Appalachian State University in Boone (40 minutes away). If you are visiting loved ones for a weekend getaway, attending an exciting college game, or celebrating a graduation, our home provides a warm and peaceful sanctuary to gather and relax together.
If you are visiting us during the beautiful summer months, you are in for a treat! Beech Mountain Ski Resort hosts incredible live outdoor concerts under the mountain skies. It's just a scenic, leisurely 30-minute walk or a quick 5-minute drive from our front door, making it effortless to enjoy the music and stroll back home under the stars.
Enjoy magical, gentle interactions with nature here—it is very common to watch peaceful deer wander right past the back porch in the soft morning mist.
A Friendly Note on Our Wildlife Neighbors: Real mountain adventures mean sharing space with magnificent wildlife. Bears have an incredible sense of smell. Please protect them and yourself: never leave food, trash, or coolers inside your vehicles, and use our secured "Bearicade" waste bin.

Critical Info: Yes, absolutely in winter (Nov-April). While we are located in a developed area, winter weather is unpredictable. Good to Know: Front-wheel drive with chains is a backup, but 4WD is significantly safer. This is a mountain drive, and winter conditions require proper vehicle handling.
Important: Yes! Cozy Romantic Cottage is equipped with Air Conditioning to ensure you stay cool. We also have floor-to-ceiling windows to enjoy the view. Many guests find the natural mountain breeze so refreshing they rarely need it—a welcome relief for those visiting from the heat! Good to Know: Relax, we have climate control covered.
Critical Info: You are exactly a 5-minute drive from Beech Mt. Ski Resort! We are also just a 4-minute drive from The Sledding Hill. Good to Know: Traffic on ski weekends can increase these driving times.
Yes! Two college towns nearby offer vibrant nightlife, bars, and restaurants. However, you will need to plan for a vehicle ride. Banner Elk is a 12-minute drive away; Boone is a 40-minute drive but worth the trip. Please check our digital guidebook for our curated list of places to visit! Good to Know: There are no pedestrian walkways to these towns from the cottage. Planning a drive is essential.

You're in nature! It is very common to have peaceful interactions with the local deer, who are frequent visitors to the property. You may also see wild turkeys and occasionally black bears.
CRITICAL SAFETY NOTE: Bears have an incredible sense of smell. To protect yourself and local wildlife, never leave food, trash, or scented items (like coolers or snacks) in your vehicles. Always use our provided "Bearicade" bin for all waste.
Good to Know: Observe wildlife from a distance and keep the property "Bear-Safe."
